Keeping you informed
The health and wellbeing of our customers, employees and the broader Bendigo community is the reason UFS Pharmacies exist. As a result of the COVID-19 virus pandemic we have had to operate in a different way to ensure we continue to protect our customers and employees. These changes will continue to develop as this situation evolves. The government authorities will continue to make decisions that we will respond to also as quickly as possible.
We are committed to keeping you up to date with information here on our website.
You’ll notice our pharmacies have continued to adapt to the changing environment with a range of initiatives designed to keep you and our employees safe which include:
Both customers and employees are advised not to come in to our pharmacies if they have symptoms, even if mild of fever/chills, respiratory illness (loss of taste, cough, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of smell/taste) should get tested immediately. If unsure or require further advice call the Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 020 080 or visit the symptom checker here.
Effective from Monday 18 January 2021 it is no longer mandatory for Victorians to wear a face mask in a public setting unless:
We understand that some people have medical conditions or exemptions therefore please let our staff on entry to the store if this is the case for you. If you need more information on exemptions then please click here.
Face masks are available for purchase in our pharmacies. BUT, be aware that there will be some days when we have ran out of stock. As you can understand supply and demand is creating its own set of complications at the moment.
The Government has also made recommendations that all health workers are to wear a surgical disposable mask, so that’s why you won’t see our team wearing the fun coloured fabric (cloth) masks when at work. However if you’re feeling creative and don’t know how to make your own face mask visit Spotlight online for an easy DIY video, pattern and all the ingredients you need to make a face mask here.
If you find it difficult to be able to hear out pharmacy staff while wearing a face mask, please let us know and we’ll put other measures in place.
To locate a testing clinic applicable to your needs visit the City of Greater Bendigo website here.
To locate a testing clinic outside of the Bendigo community visit the Department of Health and Human Services website here.
Knowing what to do next after getting tested can be a little hard to know. Check out the Journey Map to help you know what the next steps are.
