COVID-19 Update

Keeping you informed

Updated Thursday 27 May 2021

How we are supporting you

The health and wellbeing of our customers, employees and the broader Bendigo community is the reason UFS Pharmacies exist. As a result of the COVID-19 virus pandemic we have had to operate in a different way to ensure we continue to protect our customers and employees. These changes will continue to develop as this situation evolves. The government authorities will continue to make decisions that we will respond to also as quickly as possible.

We are committed to keeping you up to date with information here on our website.

Keeping you and our employees safe

You’ll notice our pharmacies have continued to adapt to the changing environment  with a range of initiatives designed to keep you and our employees safe which include:

  • Everyone over the age of 12 are to wear a fitted face mask
  • Customer limits have been implemented for each store to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
  • Everyone entering our pharmacies are asked to maintain social distance and follow all directions when in store.
  • Everyone is asked to use hand sanitiser on entry to the pharmacy.
  • Customers are asked to only touch products you intend to purchase.
  • Regularly cleaning of counters and other high contact areas taking place.
  • All staff in our pharmacies will be wearing a surgical face mask as per Government recommendations.
  • Encourage you to get your COVID-19 vaccination, visit here for more information coronavirus.vic.gov.au/vaccine.

Both customers and employees are advised not to come in to our pharmacies if they have symptoms, even if mild of fever/chills, respiratory illness (loss of taste, cough, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of smell/taste) should get tested immediately. If unsure or require further advice call the Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 020 080 or visit the symptom checker here.

Face masks

Effective from 27 May 2021 at 11.59pm it is mandatory for Victorians to wear a face mask in a public settings:

  • on public transport
  • when riding in a ride share or taxi
  • inside shopping centres, including the retail stores inside the shopping centres
  • inside indoor markets
  • in large retail stores
  • all outdoor setting when unable to socially distance
People must always carry a face mask with them, including while exercising in case there is a time when they are unable to social distance.

We understand that some people have medical conditions or exemptions therefore please let our staff on entry to the store if this is the case for you. If you need more information on exemptions then please click here.

Face masks are available for purchase in our pharmacies. BUT, be aware that there will be some days when we have ran out of stock. As you can understand supply and demand is creating its own set of complications at the moment.

The Government has also made recommendations that all health workers are to wear a surgical disposable mask, so that’s why you won’t see our team wearing the fun coloured fabric (cloth) masks when at work. However if you’re feeling creative and don’t know how to make your own face mask visit Spotlight online for an easy DIY video, pattern and all the ingredients you need to make a face mask here.

If you find it difficult to be able to hear out pharmacy staff while wearing a face mask, please let us know and we’ll put other measures in place.
